Vascular Laser (V-Beam)
Our patients receive the benefits of the laser system considered by physicians world-wide as the "Gold Standard" for the treatment of a wide variety of vascular skin conditions. More than 15 years ago, the Candela Laser Corporation first invented pulsed dye laser technology. The VBeam laser system is the newest vascular laser manufactured by Candela.

Candela VBeam laser therapy is gentle enough for use on infants as young as a few weeks old, yet powerful enough to treat most adult skin problems. In addition to the best standard of care currently available in the industry, the VBeam is less painful than other vascular laser systems. This is due to Candela's exclusive technology known as DCDtm, Dynamic Cooling Device. DCD sprays a liquid onto the skin before each laser pulse, cooling the upper layers of skin, and providing increased comfort to patients. VBeam is the only pulsed dye laser with DCD integrated into the system.

What conditions are treated with the Candela VBeam laser?
Telangiectasias
- commonly known as facial spider veins or broken blood
vessels.
Rosacea
(red face) - affecting the skin of the face around the
nose, chin, and cheeks causing a blush or sunburned look.
Angiomas
- small red spots which may be slightly raised or just
beneath the surface of the skin.
Port
Wine Stain Birthmarks - vascular lesions that grow rapidly
after birth and may impair the function of another organ.
Warts
- small benign growths in the skin that usually appear
on the hands or feet.
Scars
- red raised scars that are often caused by surgery, trauma,
or burns.
Stretch
Marks - frequently appearing after pregnancy over the
stomach, thighs, buttocks, and lower back.
Excimer Laser
The Ex-308 excimer laser creates a concentrated, but painless, beam of ultraviolet light that is delivered to psoriatic lesions or vitiligo patches on the skin. By precisely targeting only depigmented patches of vitiligo or active lesions of psoriasis without exposing healthy skin.
The side effects of laser therapy are minimal. Most patients report no side effects. A few patients have reported a mild and short-lived redness at the lesion site. More serious side effects such as blistering and hyper-pigmentation are rare and short-lived. Most patients experience no pain or discomfort. A few patients may feel slight warmth shortly after treatment. No anesthesia is needed.

For Psoriasis:
The laser is ideal for treating mild to moderate psoriasis. Traditionally hard-to-treat areas such as knees, elbows, and scalp are easily treated, thanks to the laser's aiming beam and adjustable spot size handpiece. The targeted high-dose therapy can effectively treat stubborn plaques, even those that have not responded to other treatments. Each patient is unique, but most patients enjoy several months of treatment-free remission after completing about 8 laser sessions. Excimer laser treatments are painless and take only a few minutes. The laser may have fewer shortcomings than many common psoriasis treatments.
For Vitiligo:
Excimer laser therapy for vitiligo has been proven safe and effective for patients of all ages and ethnic backgrounds. The laser is ideal for localized areas including the face, neck, and torso. Traditionally hard-to-treat areas such as the underarms, hands, and feet are also easily treated, thanks to the laser's aiming beam and adjustable spot size handpiece. The targeted therapy can effectively treat stubborn patches, even those that have not responded to other treatments. Compared to UVB booths and PUVA that may take 6 months to 1 year of sessions, most excimer laser patients achieve repigmentation in 30 or fewer sessions. Total UV radiation is lower than with UVB booths or PUVA. Treatments are fast and no pharmaceuticals are needed.
